1.5. ISABELLA, born in Cedar County, Iowa, 6 Oct 1865,
shortly after her parents had moved there from New York City. died 5 Jan 1950. Married on 9 Sep 1908 to Will Johnson, born 16 May 1867, died 8 Feb 1954. She grew up in Eastern Iowa and cared for her mother after her father died in 1884. In 1890, her brother Sam move to Hayes Township in Ida County, in Western Iowa. There he built a small house on the Corrie farm for his mother and his sister. While she cared for her aging mother, she also taught school at the school house directly across from the Corrie farm. Thus, nearly all her nieces and nephews had Aunt Isabel as a teacher. During this time she had refused to marry her long-term beau Will Johnson. Will move to Washington, having given up on Isabel. But in 1905 Isabel went to Wyoming to recover from a case of tuberculosis. Recovered, she went further west to Washington where she and Will were married in 1906 in Trinadad, WA. They soon returned to Ida Grove where they lived on a farm in Hayes Township until moving into Ida Grove in 1920 to live out their lives. Will, born in Denmark, came to America at age 17. Although they had no children, "Uncle Billy" and Isabel were favorites of all the Corries and Garners and were active members of the larger family. Click for full size picture

2. GEORGE, baptized 29 Jul 1829 in Manchester Cathedral. 3. FREDERICK HENRY, baptized 10 Feb 1834 in Manchester Cathedral; married 24 Dec 1857 in Lawrence Co, IL to his cousin Isabelle Mary Corrie (ref. 1.1.5.1.5.4.) born circa 1832 daughter of Adam and Mary Ann Corrie (ref. 1.1.5.1.5.). Frederick and Isabelle reportedly cleared a farm near the farm of Andrew (ref. 1.1.5.1.6.), it prospered, but later Frederick's mind failed and he lived his final years in Anna State Hospital. 4. HARRIET, baptized with Frederick Henry 10 Feb 1834 in Manchester Cathedral. 5. MARY, baptized 26 Aug 1838 in Manchester Cathedral.
