1.1.5.1.1.2.) who had come to America with another William and John before the
Civil War. It is possible that Frederick stayed in America and his companions, William and John, returned to
Scotland. (According to Wallace Beals, a William Corrie lived in Lexington, KY and became part owner of a
paint store, he owned considerable property. He never married and had no children.) Frederick Corrie remained
in the U.S. and married Isabelle and, according to a letter written by Jacob Albert Corrie (ref.
1.1.5.1.6.6.) settled on a farm near Albert's father's farm. Frederick and Isabelle cleared a good farm but in
