5. ADAM, fifth child of William and Margaret, born 5 Apr 1803 in Scotland; married 26 Dec 1823 in Lawrence Co,
IL to his cousin Mary Corrie (ref.
1.1.5.4.4.) who was born in Scotland 21 Feb 1802 to John and Mary Agnes
Dickson (Dixon) Corrie; they lived near Bethel church in lower Lawrence Co, Lukin Twp, IL; Adam was an Elder
and leader in the Bethel Methodist church for many years, so it is evident that Methodist connections go back to
the early days of the Corries settling in America; Adam died 3 Mar 1863; Mary died 28 Nov 1887, both are buried
in Bethel cemetery; children, (

5) Robert Wesley.
5.1. AGNES (DIXON) DICKSON, daughter of Adam and Mary Corrie, born Dec 1825;
died 1 Apr 1871 in Wabash Co. IL; a well-educated person, she was considered a special lady by her friends
and family; she was a school teacher; married in Lawrence Co, IL 30 Jan 1845 to Hezekiah Clark, Jr., who was
born 24 Sep 1822 to Hezekiah Clark, Sr. and Betsy Tuttle. (The Tuttle family goes back to Henry Tuthill,
Tharston Co, Norfolk, England; his two sons Richard (1593-1640) and William Tuthill (1609-1673) came to
America in 1635 in the Planters; William was the ancestor of Andrew Tuttle, born 13 Mar 1759 who served in
Col. Canfield's Militia Regiment at West Point in September of 1781; Andrew married 2 May 1789 to Betsy
Beers born April 1765 and died 5 Mar 1867; Andrew was a hatter and came to Edwards Co in 1817 with five
children, he died 30 Sep 1841 is buried at the family home between Lancaster and Orio; his wife Betsy died 20
Sep 1843; their daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) was born 9 May 1801; she married Capt. Hezekiah Clark, Sr., of
Connecticut, Captain in the War of 1812, she died 10 Feb 1880. and they had a son, Hezekiah Clark, Jr.. who
married Agnes Dickson Corrie.) Agnes is supposedly buried near the old Clark home about 1/4 miles southwest
