3.8.1.1. HARLAN KNOWLTON, born 13 Apr 1925 in Joliet IL; joined the navy following high school and served in
the South Pacific on a submarine chaser and experienced a
typhoon, later attended the University of
Illinois where he studied art education; spent two years as a teacher in Paris, France before coming to
Freeport, and Urbana, IL to teach; married 17 Jun 1957 in Urbana to Judith (Judy) Moyer who was born 28
Jun 1936; Harlan and Judy, along with his parents Marian and Lester, visited the ancestoral home South
Park in Scotland in 1958. Judy was a nurse and an artist, she and Harlan live in a lovely woodland home
known as "Briar Patch" with a studio where Judy makes her pottery and Harlan paints. They entertain many
foreign-exchange visitors. Judy is a cook par excellent. and serves her food from her own beautiful

3.8.1.1.1. CHRISTOPHER KNOWLTON, born 30 Aug 1959 in Sycamore, IL; married 10 Dec 1981 to Lynn Ellen
Stalter daughter of Paul Joseph Stalter and Virginia Drydan; Chris attended Beloit University in
Illinois and worked in jewelry design for some time. He and his wife create stained glass pieces of
excellent quality and design, do commission work for private customers, and execute original windows for
churches; address, Corrie Art Glass, 411 N Charter, Monticello, IL 61856; children,
