3.8.1. LESTER LINN, born 15 Mar 1896; served as farm advisor in Wayne County, then bought into his father-in-law's drugstore in Urbana, IL; married 30 Mar 1922 in Willemette, IL to Miriam Knowlton. Miriam became fascinated with the Corrie history when her husband Lester returned from the family home in Wabash, Co with a bundle of yellow, brittle letters that he had found in an old desk in the attic. Lester's father, Harlan, gave them to him and he in turn gave them to Miriam for safe keeping. It was a wise decision. The letters had been written between 1814 and 1869 by families and friends in Scotland and England to Robert (ref. 1.1.5.7.) and Sarah Corrie, Lester's great-grandparents. Miriam carefully transcribed and typed the letters, making notes of her own thoughts and feelings as she read about these people and their struggles and
