      successes. Miriam also carried on an extensive correspondence with Wallace Beals (ref. 1.1.5.4.5.6.3.) and 
      these two dedicated people preserved much of the history of the family. Miriam shared the typed copies of 
      the letters with many of the relatives and then loaned them to the Illinois State Historical Society who 
      microfilmed them for their research files. Miriam and Lester had one son, (1) Harlan Knowlton.
