6.11.1. The Rev. Stuart Berton (Bert) Edmondson, was named after his uncle the Rev. Stuart Parrott Edmondson (Stuart was the son of Wiley Manson Edmondson and Sarah Ann Parrott and was a well-known Methodist minister who died in 1885 at the age of 37 of a pulminary disorder, probably TB); Bert married Maude Bacon, who was a very gracious lady who helped her husband in many ways in his church work. Bert was the pastor of a number of churches including a suburban Chicago church; he developed throat problems and left the ministry for a year or two and then, on doctor's orders, left the damp climate of the Great Lakes and moved to Missouri. Later he was the pastor of the Country Club Methodist Church in Kansas City, MO and St Louis, MO which he particularly enjoyed because of its social service projects; Bert died of cancer and complications from a fall while serving as Methodist District Superintendent in Farmington, MO. He and Maude are buried in the Valhala Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. They had no children. 6.11.2. The Rev. Charles Manson (Charley) Edmondson, born 17 Apr 1881 at Sumner, IL; died 5 Nov 1948 As a young man, he and his brother went to a Methodist youth meeting in Olney, IL where Charley met school teacher Ethel Vera McWilliams, who was playing the organ for the services. She was born 21 Apr 1882 in Olney IL to William and Mallie McWilliams; Ethel and Charley were married 26 Nov 1908 at Maxburg Community Church; Charley was educated at Garret Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL, and later received a Doctor of Divinity degree from the Seminary. He was a Methodist pastor of several Iowa churches and served as the Boone District Superintendent. He and his fellow ministers, brother Bert Edmondson and first cousins Carl and Roy Corrie, attended the 1936 National Methodist Unification Conference in Kansas City when the Methodist Protestant Church, the Methodist Church South, and the Methodist Episcopal Churches merged. While they were serving the Methodist Church in Oskaloosa, IA. Ethel died 26 Apr 1949. both died of complications from strokes and are buried in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa, IA; children, (1) Velma Lillian, (2) John William, (3) Marjory Joy. 6.11.2.1. Velma Lillian (Lillian) Edmondson, born 2 May 1910, in Evanston, IL; attended Simpson College where she met her husband; married 22 Apr 1933 in Hancock, IA to Eugene (Gene) Morris Thorngren who was born 17 Nov 1912 in Pilot Mound, IA to John Reuben Thorngren and Pauline Carlson; both Lillian and Gene graduated from Simpson College, Indianola, IA. During the second World War Gene went into the navy and was stationed in San Francisco in the U S Navy Fleet Post Office.; following the war, Gene and Lillian moved to where he worked at the U. S Postal Service; children, (1) Marilyn Jean, (2) John Charles. 6.11.2.1.1. Marilyn Jean Thorngren, born 21 Jan 1933 in Denver CO, married to David Ayers, born 9 Jul 1931 in
