to Marie Louisa Ernestine Vial, born 1871 daughter of Marius Vial, civil engineer, and Annie Bell; they had
two children (

5.5.1. JAMES, born 8 Nov 1898 in Ayr parish; from 1919 resided in Beaconsfield, Kirkcudbright, and from 1923
lived with mother on a farm near Glasgow.
5.5.2. HARRY, born 15 Mar 1902 in Glen, Kirkmabreck; technical assistant in the Department of Agriculture;
emigrated to Singapore; died 8 Jul 1961 in Dumfries Infirmary; married Eulalia Bickler or Stewart and
resided in Over Corsock, Kirkpatrick Durham.
5.6. THOMAS, born 10 Nov 1871 in South Park, Borgue; farmer in South Park and Cairniehill; in 1928 he was
President of the Kirkcudbright Horse Breeding Society; died 25 Apr 1929; married 4 Oct 1905 in Kelvingrove,
Glasgow, to Isabella Wilson, born 1866, died 19 Nov 1952 in South Park; they had one child

1) Mary Isabella.
5.6.1. MARY ISABELLA (MAYBELLE), born 12 Dec 1906 in South Park, Borgue; died 22 Aug 1972 aged 65 in
Kirkcudbright; married 30 Oct 1929 in Borgue to Douglas John Gillespie, writer/lawyer in Castle Douglas
owner of and farmer in South Park; they had three children (
1) Isabelle Corrie, (
2) Hannah Alison Corrie,

3) Thomas Corrie.

5.6.1.2. Hannah Alison Corrie Gillespie, born 19 Apr 1932 in South Park, Borgue.
5.6.1.3. Thomas Corrie Gillespie, born 13 Sep 1935 in Kelvingrove, Glasgow; married 18 Mar 1964 in Ayr to
Jessica Murray Thomson Black, daughter of James Black, farmer, and Agnes Sloan Stevenson; they reside in
Dunrod Lodge, Cairniehill, and have three children (
1) Sally Isabella, (
2) Douglas James Corrie,

3) Julia Stevenson Black. Thomas is the current owner of South Park as of 2001.
5.6.1.3.1. Sally Isabella Gillespie, born 30 Apr 1965 in Dumfries. She attended school in Borgue Primary, St
Leanards and St Andrews. College in Edinburgh where she earned a BA in Communication studies. She is a
journalist. Worked for 10 months with Galloway Gazette Newton Stewart and 2 1/2 years with the Tweedale
Press as Kelso reporter for 'Southern Reports.' Gave up job in Apr 1992 to travel, cycled around New
Zealand, traveled Australia, Hong Kong, presently cycling in China.
5.6.1.3.2. Douglas James Corrie Gillespie, born 4 Dec 1966 in Dumfries. Attended school at Borgue Primary,
Crawfordton at Mouraive, Strathallan, and Perthshire. Attended Royal agricultural College, Cirenuster.
Worked 3 years assistant agent with Chatsworth Estates, Derbyshire (Duke and Duchess of Devonshire).
He is a Chartered Surveyor. From 9/1992 to 6/1993, he took part in the British Sail round the World
Yacht Race on Interspray. Qualified as a skipper and at present (1994) is skipper of British Steel 11,
working in Norway taking charterer from Bodo into the Arctic Circle.
5.6.1.3.3. Julia Stevenson Black Gillespie, born 5 Aug 1969 in Dumfries. Attended Borgue Primary, Oxenford,
Widlothian, Kilgraston and Perthsire. Attended College in Edinburgh, the College of Arts. BA in
Sculpture. She is a professional artist. Loves to travel. She has visited Rome, was student exchange in
Unknown St Petersburg,
Unknown, Los Angeles (to Boris' wedding to Lyndsay). Spent five months in East
Berlin 9/1993 working on sculpture projects.,
Unknown for 3 weeks following 1992/1993 Round the World
Race. 1994, she was training for next round the world Yacht Race in 1996/1997, The British Global
Challenge.
5.7. ADAM, born 20 Jan 1874 in South Park, Borgue; farmer; died 3 Dec 1930 in Auchengool farm, Dundrennan,
