School in Schuyler County. Margaret died in 1974. Walter was one of the country's early aviators and
veteran of WW I. Their courtship was an exciting one. At one point Walter flew his plane over the school
at Perkin, Illinois where she taught, buzzed the town, circled and landed in a nearby field. Then the
brash young suitor took off with his bride to be. Margaret shared with him a fondness for travel, which
began with a six-month crosscountry honeymoon. They drove across country in a model T Ford on the early
highways and over miles of unpaved roads. Their love of adventure took them to most of the interesting and
colorful corners of this country as well as abroad. Late in life they traveled to Machu Picchu at the top
of the Andes in Peru. At the time of their marriage, they settled on the Houston Family farm near
Rushville, Illinois where they raised their family. The Rushville area became their home for most of
their lives until the 1950's when they began to spend the winters in a home they built near Scottsdale,
Arizona. had a daughter (

4) Nicholas Andrew. Steven and Linda first met on 7 Sep 1960
on the first day of 2nd grade at De Goyler Elementary School, Dallas, Dallas Co, Texas. They were in
the same schools until 6th grade and in the same class for 2nd, 5th, and 6th. After 6th grade, Linda's
family moved to Chicago. After college Linda moved back to Dallas. Several years later they re-met in
Dallas on 20 Mar 1977. Linda (SAR #715961) joined the Betty Martin Chapter in Temple, Texas. Linda
and family have been living in Tulsa, OK. since about 1990.
