five years and then went to Cabrillo and took the acclaimed program in horticultural design. She loves
design work especially as it relates to plants, married 17 Feb 1983 to Russell (Russ) Borelli; Russ
has two boys by a prior marriage, Nick and Mike, now grown. Russ is a Battalian Chief for the
California Department of Forestry and was involved in managing the 1993 fire fighting efforts during
the great southern California fires. Both Denver and Russ are great cooks. They live in Soquel in a
home they remodeled and in which they installed a professional kitchen. Russ has been attending the
Culinary program in Cabrillo and plans to take early retirement in a few years and intends doing
serious cooking.
8.4.1.5.1.3. Beth Ahlgren, born 3 Apr 1957; married 1 Jul 1979 to Steve Huntley; both Beth and Steve worked in
Silicon Valley later they moved to Boulder Creek. Steve was a technician whose job it was to see that
all of the discarded waste met standards for disposal. One day in 1986 he heard someone screaming and
ran to help. The person screaming had been carrying undiluted sulfuric acid in an open bucket (a
serious violation of safety rules) and had spilled some on himself and the floor. Steve slipped on the
acid and fell into it causing second and third degree burns on his buttocks and the backs of his legs.
Once he recovered, he changed careers and, after
returning to school for a time, he was accepted into
the Environmental Toxicology program at the University of California at Davis, then took a position
with Chemftisk, a consulting firm owned by Sandoz, the Swiss Corporation, and the family moved to
Portland Maine. Beth is presently attending Southern Main University as a political science major and
has taken creative writing, short story and poetry courses. She works with their school district to
improve educational opportunities; children, (

8.4.1.5.1.3.1. Sarah Ahlgren Huntley, born 1 Mar 1980, has taken violin lessons, is in the school orchestra,
loves to sing and is enjoys athletics She is a disc jockey on a local public radio station. She has
a fine speaking and singing voice.
8.4.1.5.1.3.2. Aaron Ahlgren Huntley, born 13 Jul 1984; Aaron is learning to play the piano. Along with his
family, Aaron is enjoying the natural wonders of Maine and its sports, everything from field hockey
to soccer to ice skating and sledding.
8.4.1.5.2. James Wendell Ellingson, Jr., born 11 May 1934 in San Francisco CA; he was a "blue baby" born with a
heart defect that led to oxygen deficiency and caused a blue color to his complexion; he died 17 May
1934.
