The table of descent from William continues in the following pages from great-great-grandchildren mentioned above,
a chapter being allotted to each. After 1900, day and month are usually omitted from dates. Where only the year is
stated, it may be the registration date so the actual time of the event may be December or even November of the
preceding year. Places mentioned may be names of registration districts and not the actual localities or
sub-districts. Registration and parish boundaries are not necessarily identical, nor are census district
boundaries found to be always conforming with either. In Scotland occasionally, and in England frequently, all
three types of district may have changed their boundaries and not necessarily at the same times. Postal district
address changes are now an added cause of place name confusion. It is hoped that this record will give offense to
none and be of interest to many in the families mentioned. It is as complete and accurate as can be at the present
stage of my researches, but it doubtless contains many errors of fact and omission; any help offered in correcting
them will be gratefully received.
