1848 Adam Corrie residing in Holywood & Elizabeth Gray residing in Terregles were regularly proclaimed in
order to marriage in Terregles church on Sunday the 21st & on the following Sunday 28th May
1795 April 23 Agnes Currie wife to James Gracie Burnside died of a consumption and buried in Troquire
1799 Febry 23 Died at Clunie John Currie aged 87 buried in Terregles
1813 Febry 20 Died Margaret Currie wife of Mr. Glover, Cleughbrae
1850 Died at Clunie on the 6th September John Corrie and was interred in Terregles Churchyard on the 10th
day.
The following is extracted from Terregles Kirk Session Minute Book (held by the Kirk session clerk): Year
1750 Treagels Kirk Jun. 17 After prayer, sederunt Mr. Hamilton moderator with James MacKnish, James Tait, John
Corrie elders. Adam Corrie was chosen Clerk for the time. (identity details were not entered, but family
tradition identifies John and Adam as brothers, sons of John Corrie farmer in Terreglestown: John born 1708,
about four years old when his father died and brought up by his uncle Alexander in Clunie, became farmer in
Boguehead of Mabie, died 1781 buried in Terregles; Adam born 1703, farmer in Terreglestown until 1745 when he
defied the landlord Maxwell family, who were staunch Roman Catholics but desired to continue exercising the
territorial right of patronage to select the new parish minister, and Adam haring instigated opposition in the
neighbourhood, won the day but lost his farm and moved out of the parish to Mallaby in Irongray where he died in
1786, buried in Terregles. Adam's eldest son Andrew, about 12 years old at that time, became co-tenant in
Terreglestown with four or five other farmers. Adam's second son William, born 1735, went to Wellingborough in
